SUMMARY:NYS Department of Financial Services (DFS) Complaint Submission Process Overview
DESCRIPTION:Effective January 1\, 2024\, Commercial payers were required to cover OMH-Licensed School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) Clinic services and reimburse the providers either at the rate negotiated with the provider or\, in the absence of a negotiated rate\, an amount no less than the Medicaid rate (Insurance Circular Letter No. 9 (2023). To support providers experiencing payment/reimbursement issues\, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) in partnership with the Office of Mental Health (OMH)\, is hosting a webinar to review the process for submitting complaints to DFS and answer questions. \nRegister for the webinar here: https://meetny.webex.com/weblink/register/ra55682ad1f2d4b835b76ee27b44d4c64 \nLinked are the DFS Instructions on Opening a Portal Account and Provider Complaint Forms Portal Instructions which were previously sent on April 25\, 2024.
