DESCRIPTION:Good morning\, \nThe NYS Council is pleased to announce the second webinar in our three-part March 2024 training series focused on various elements of New York’s newly approved 1115 waiver amendment\, and other statewide initiatives of import to NYS Council members and the individuals they serve.  In all of the presentations\, our goal is to help position NYS Council members to make the most of the opportunities presented by the new waiver programs\, and to empower you to make smart choices regarding who you align your agency with as the implementation continues. \nNote:  The recording of the presentation on March 5 is now posted on our Website:  www.nyscouncil.org.  You will find it (along with the powerpoint presentation) in the ‘Members Only’ section of our site under the archived events tab.  If you need a UserName and Password to access the materials\, send a note to Cindy at:  cindy@nyscouncil.org  to request credentials. \nBelow is information re: NYS Council Webinar #2 on March 11 from 10-11 with HMA consultants. \nOASAS Addiction Services Refinancing Project:  What We Know and How Providers Should Prepare \nMarch 11\, 10 -11 am \n(Zoom Webinar link to follow – no registration required.) \nThis is a ‘Members Only’ event. \n Webinar Description: \nMarch 11 from 10-11:00 \nCurrently the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) provides nearly $500 million in net deficit funding for eligible outpatient and residential treatment providers. In the attempt to modernize the payment system and address funding inequities between historical and newer programs\, OASAS is working to develop new alternative funding approaches that provide greater equity across levels of care and types of providers. Drawing from models in other states\, newly developed payment structures will focus on ensuring value in quality care\, driving improved outcomes\, and facilitating programmatic operational efficiencies. HMA’s Kamala Greene-Genece and Joshua Rubin will provide an overview of possible payment models and specific strategies on how programs can begin to align themselves for the future.
