DESCRIPTION:Click to register! \nEvent Description: \nAs part of the Person-Centered Planning Comprehensive System Transformation Statewide Training Initiative\, the New York State Department of Health – in partnership with Support Development Associates (SDA) and Public Consulting Group (PCG) – is pleased to offer this virtual training opportunity. Person-Centered Practice and Cultural Humility (Module 6) is a 2-hour interactive virtual training that will define culture and cultural humility and their connection to home and community-based services. The trainers will share person-centered skills that are helpful in exploring culture with a person who is receiving services and supports. After the training\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe cultural humility and how it applies to home and community-based services and supports\nIdentify key aspects of person-centered cultural humility in order to provide services and supports in line with the HCBS Final Rule\nEngage in action learning and raising awareness around people’s values and lived experiences\nUnderstand the difference between Cultural Humility and Cultural Competence\nIdentify available resources for further learning\n\nThis training topic is ideal for those who provide\, oversee\, receive\, or support people who receive person-centered supports and services and have a base of knowledge in person-centered thinking\, and\, want to understand the connections between person-centered practices and cultural humility. \n\n\n\n\n\nSpace for this training session is limited\, so please do not register for this session unless you plan to attend.
