SUMMARY:The Substance Abuse Disorder Epidemic Among Youth: Responding to a Growing Mental Health Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Last year\, the number of overdose deaths in the United States exceeded 100\,000 for the first time ever. Equally alarming\, the rate of drug-related overdose deaths among U.S. teenagers nearly doubled in 2020. Since that time\, the data indicates that the mortality trend among adolescents is continuing. \nIn a new webinar\, Manatt Health\, the American Medical Association (AMA)\, and a panel of leading providers and SUD advocates with expertise in the youth and adolescent crisis will provide an overview of SUD among adolescents and discuss the challenges that states and communities face in addressing the substance abuse epidemic.
