During today’s Thursday morning NYS Council Member Support and Public Policy call, a member agency CFO had a question regarding a credit the agency had received from the Department of Labor.  Many thanks to Marcy Savage, our fabulous Government Relations Consultant who solved the mystery!

Linked below is a Barclay Damon write up that summarizes a 2021 change to Employer Unemployment Insurance Charges.  The impact of the order is particularly significant for self-insured employers, such as not-for-profit organizations and government entities, that reimburse the unemployment insurance fund on a dollar-for-dollar basis for benefits paid to their former employees instead of making regular contributions to the unemployment insurance fund.
