2020 Advocacy Day and Annual Business Meeting

February 4 – 5

NYS Council members are strongly encouraged to come to Albany on February 4-5 to attend our 2020 Advocacy Day and Annual Business Meeting. The executive budget proposal is due to be released during the third week of January making early visits with lawmakers that much more impactful!
We are pleased to announce that during our Annual Business Meeting one of our featured speakers will be Madhuri Kommareddi, Director of Workforce Development in the Governor’s Office, a new position recently created in the Administration. Given the workforce crisis in the human services sector, our input and advocacy with Ms. Kommareddi will be critically important during this discussion.
Ms. Kommareddi previously worked as Director and Head of Credit Investor Relations & Product Management at BlackRock. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Clinton Foundation as the Director of Job One and the Director of Program Development for the Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Ms. Kommareddi served as a Director for International Economic Affairs at the White House National Security Council and National Economic Council, where she led White House work to convene the first G20 Labor and Employment Ministers meeting. She also has worked as Associate Staff Secretary in the White House, policy aide on the Obama for America 2008 presidential campaign and the Obama-Biden Transition Project, as Policy Coordinator in then-Senator Obama’s office, and in a variety of capacities on political campaigns. She is a graduate of Yale Law School, where she served on the Yale Law Journal, and Northwestern University.
