HHS Provider Relief Fund
April 29, 2020
Attached is an overview of the HHS Provider Relief Fund.
HHS has changed the location of the portal for provider attestation (listed in the attachment).
The link is here: https://covid19.linkhealth.com/#/step/1
If you are a provider who billed Medicare in 2018, even if it was just a small part of your revenues, you should automatically get a payment. After you receive the payment you must either sign an attestation or return it.
The first round allocation formula ($30billion) was based proportionately on the Medicare revenues, the second round allocation formula ($20bn) is based on total revenues.
To set expectations, neither round is likely to yield a lot of cash to our members, but if you billed Medicare, you should receive something. If you received nothing, there is a process for you to submit records to demonstrate you should have. That site is in the attached document.
There is a third stream ($30bn) in the works for Medicaid providers, but as you can imagine, the process of establishing a more equitable formula for distribution will be more difficult as all 50 states and DC have totally different ways of using Medicaid funding.
I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
