Please see the information (below) from my contact at the Empire Justice Center re: the Governor’s having received an important contracting reform bill for final consideration.
As of yesterday, the Governor has over 110 pieces of legislation in front of her for final action before the end of the year. Once a bill is transferred from the Legislature to the Executive, the Governor’s has 10 days to act on the legislation.

Sign ons from individual organizations are welcomed through the end of the day tomorrow (Wednesday).

You are receiving this email because you signed onto the letter of support for the contracting reform bill (S.4877-A Mayer / A.2740-B Paulin) this summer; here is the version that we sent over the summer. Thank you so much for your advocacy.
We wanted to share the latest news: Gov Hochul has called the bill to her. She now has until Wednesday, November 27 to take action.
As you know, this bill is a critical step for New York nonprofits. Its enactment would indeed strengthen New York’s not-for-profit network as we prepare to protect civil rights and ensure that vital safety net benefits continue
Here are some action steps we are asking people to take to advocate for her to sign the bill.
· Updated Sign on letter
We will be sending an updated version of the letter to the governor this week.
We will add everyone who signed the original letter unless you ask to be removed. If you would like to be removed from the updated version, please email America Rivera (arivera@empirejustice.org) by Wednesday COB.
We will be doing outreach to other organizations who have not yet signed the letter. Please spread the word and ask others to sign onto the letter by Wednesday COB.
· Social Media
Please spread the word on social media – including tagging the governor — so she knows we are watching and we need her to sign this bill.
