NYS Council Social Media Campaign

October 30, 2025

I am pleased to report the NYS Council is now fully engaged in a social media campaign designed to educate the public and ultimately, to compel Governor Hochul and NYS leaders to remove OASAS and OMH outpatient, rehabilitation and residential services from the state’s Medicaid managed care program.  We are working with 15 associations, coalitions and advocates representing a broad range of stakeholders from across the state (see attached letter).

The NYS Council has retained Primeau-Fahey & Associates, a full service public relations and media consulting firm based here in the Capital District.  The firm has a demonstrated commitment to the issues we care about, prioritize, and a track record of success that I know will help us amplify our message and press lawmakers into action. But at the end of the day, WE NEED YOUR HELP.  YOU ARE THE ARMY THAT CAN & WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Earlier today I posted on LinkedIn about our new campaign here:  https://lnkd.in/e24TPzyc     Going forward I will use the NYS Council’s LinkedIn page and our other social media platform pages to educate our followers, encouraging readers to amplify our collective voice through letter writing, sign on campaigns, Letters to the Editor, media spots and much more.

Today’s LinkedIn post links to a page on our Website where you and your colleagues can generate lots of letters to Governor Hochul, calling on her to rid our service delivery system of (mostly) for-profit corporations that are ‘managing’ our services into the ground.

Make no mistake.  At this point the single greatest administrative/regulatory relief NYS leaders can deliver for us is to release us from this chaos.   It’s been a decade of increasing problems, unanswered promises, and ongoing failures marked by long waiting lists and delayed and denied care – and all of this while insurers earn millions of dollars in interest on scarce resources that belong to the public mental hygiene system.

PLEASE go to our LinkedIn page today and follow us online.  Repost our social media messages, send letters using our VoterVoice system, and ask your friends, colleagues and staff to do the same.

JOIN THE FIGHT. HAVE COURAGE & HELP US MAKE THIS CHANGE!

Thank you!
