Yesterday Governor Cuomo publicly stated that all ‘healthcare workers’ must receive at least the first shot of the (current) two shot COVID-19 vaccine protocol by September 27 (with certain exceptions).   I have calls in to the Governor’s Office, DOH and both state agencies seeking clarification as to the specific OMH and OASAS Programs and Services that are included in this latest requirement.  Media outlets are reporting that the mandate applies to hospital workers as well as those who work in long-term care environments such as nursing homes and other congregate care settings.

At this time, we have more questions than answers.  Marcy Savage from Reid, McNally and Savage (our government relations consultants) has reached out to various contacts and was just informed that the state is currently working on an emergency regulation that will include both scope and process issues.  We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
