I am pleased to announce that the NYS Council will be convening the first meeting of our new Children & Youth Committee on July 31 from 1:00 – 2:00.  This new committee is open to any NYS Council member agency that is a full member (meaning that you are a provider organization that directly operates OASAS and/or OMH programs and services for children and adolescents).

Our goal is to create a peer group of NYS Council member agency representatives that want to share information and work together to find solutions to the issues facing providers that operate these critical programs and services.  The NYS Council will provide timely information and analysis on topics of import to children and youth providers as well as training and technical assistance as needed.   In addition, we will work with committee members to identify and implement a budget and legislative strategy that enhances the OASAS and OMH systems of care for children and youth, and that increases access to care.  Note:  This may include transition age youth but this will depend on the group’s preferences.

If you would like to be added to our new listserv to communicate directly with one another, receive notices and other information regarding upcoming meetings, etc.  please send an email to Lauri Cole at:  lauri@nyscouncil.org.  In the email please include the name and email address of the person you want added to the list.  We will be using it to communicate details (including a Zoom link) for the meeting on July 31.
