State Medicaid Director Amir Bassiri just stated that it is highly likely that a previously proposed state procurement for one statewide platform (Unite Us, etc.) will come OUT of the revised 1115 final waiver application to CMS.  This decision is largely based on feedback from stakeholders received during the public comment period in May AND the recognition that the market is always innovating, a procurement would take a long time, and there is no need to go through yet another procurement process as part of this waiver implementation.  Instead, the state will issue guidelines that these platforms must meet, and then allow funding to follow the choices made by the regional networks that are working together to implement the objectives of the waiver.
