Over the summer the NYS Council went to OMH and subsequently to other state leaders about an issue presented by some of our members in which they felt they had no choice but to refrain from screening and (where appropriate) referring CCBHC demo clients that might benefit from SCN services, into the SCN system due to billing and compliance issues.  This was months ago, and I have been persistent in pushing the Offices to immediately issue a clarification for providers on this matter so the folks we serve can benefit from the services.

This morning I learned that an updated SCN Billing Guidance manual (from DoH) is supposed to hit the streets next week – on 10/31. Apparently it will include language that SHOULD give reassurance to those CCBHC Demo providers who are concerned about this problem.  I really hope the language meets your needs.  I have urged the state to be specific and concrete.

I am told OMH or DoH will be messaging to providers about the coming updated billing manual very soon (maybe today) and (again) the release date is (currently) set for 10/31.
