On Tuesday, the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee held a legislative hearing to discuss over 20 bills aimed at improving the mental health and substance use disorder/addiction treatment delivery system. Throughout the conversation, a number of NYS Council priorities were supported by witnesses and legislators alike, including ensuring adequate funding for behavioral health providers through the pandemic and beyond, extending telehealth flexibilities for behavioral health services beyond the end of the public health emergency, enforcing mental health parity, and more.
