July 28, 2023

OASAS:

The Buprenorphine Assistance Program (Bupe-AP) is a pilot program in development between the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and the Department of Health (DOH).

Bupe-AP will cover the cost of buprenorphine for uninsured and under-insured individuals. The program will be managed by the DOH AIDS Institute’s Office of Uninsured Care Programs (UCP), utilizing UCPs existing pharmacy benefit management system and allowing access to all of the pharmacies currently enrolled in the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).

The pilot will allow for OASAS and DOH programs to roll-out the benefit. Programs will be required to utilize a formulary, which may be subject to change.

For more information on this program, please email us at bupeap@oasas.ny.gov.

OMH:

Please see link below for the latest update to the COVID-19 Infection Control Manual for Public Mental Health System Programs. OMH has been issuing versions of this manual since May of 2020.  This version reflects the end of the Federal Public Health Emergency and the lifting of most requirements.  Specifically, this manual:

  • No longer lists vaccination requirements for hospital settings
  • Reflects relaxation of masking recommendation in most settings
  • Removes references to outdated CDC tracking websites.
  • Provides an update to an upcoming COVID-19 booster in the Fall of 2023
