Hello everyone,

Thanks to so many of you for attending our Thursday morning call this morning with representatives from the Workforce Innovation Organizations (WIOs) that are responsible for rolling out the state’s new Career Pathways Training Initiative.  I have attached a group of slides that may help to reinforce some of what we heard while I wait to receive the complete PowerPoint slide deck and other materials from the presenters to include the information regarding backfill maximum daily rates and other important details.  Stand by for the full slide deck.  I have also included a rehash of some of the notes that I took during the presentation here:

1) DSPs (OPWD) can participate in the Program.

2) Program participants must complete the Program by March 31, 2027.

3) Graduates must be willing to make a 3 year commitment to an agency that can attest to serving at least 30% Medicaid members (measured based on total annual caseload mix).

4) No income restrictions for students.

5) Program can not support purchases of technology for students.

6) Also see slide entitled WIO Background and Roles and read the chat response from Curtis Dann-Messier (a rep from 1199 WIO) who responds to the questions about Community Health Workers and Patient Care Managers and what operational definition the state is likely to use to explicate these titles.
