This morning, OMH held an ‘All Provider Meeting’ to discuss its new hospital guidance, guidance for community-based MH programs and Hospital & Community Connections work. Please see the slide deck used during the meeting (attached).  There is also a link to the recorded event for those who may have missed it.

Going forward OMH will host a series of regional meetings regarding the information that was shared this morning.  The schedule of meetings is below in the box.

I haven’t had much time to review the slide deck but one of the (obvious) questions I have relates to how OMH intends to ensure appropriate and timely discharge from hospital settings when waiting lists for outpatient and other services are so significant, and our workforce staff vacancy rates are at 21% annually.

I will attend as many of these calls (beginning tomorrow) as I can and I encourage you to do the same.  We should talk more about the message we want to send during the upcoming regional meetings.  Let’s discuss it on Thursday morning during our regularly scheduled NYS Council Thursday morning Member Support and Public Policy call.

Some attendees today asked for the links to join their upcoming regional meeting. The purpose of these meetings is to have group discussion on the topics presented in today’s statewide meeting. Attendees will be able to un-mute their phone lines after the initial presentations.
