National Council Details re: HHS Phase 3 Provider Funding Portal

The application portal for U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) new Phase 3 Provider Relief funding is now open. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 6. Below, we include more information around the application process, as well as a template email we recommend you send to your members today.

As we noted last week, the Administration singled out the critical work of behavioral health care providers in their announcement of the $20 billion in additional available funding. To reflect this attention and urgency, we want to make sure your members are first in line to access the new funding.

To expedite the calculation and distribution of payments, we urge you to encourage your members to apply as soon as possible.

In the meantime, below is a template email to send to members, along with how to access the secure portal. Please send the below email ASAP, encouraging your members to upload their information no later than Friday, November 6, 2020.

Dear Member,

This morning, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)officially opened the Provider Relief Fund Phase 3 General Distribution application portal. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to potentially receive part of the $20 billion in newly available funding.

You have until Friday, November 6 to apply for funding.

You are eligible for the new funding even if you previously received, rejected or accepted a General Distribution Provider Relief Fund payment. If you have already received payments of approximately 2% of annual revenue from patient care, you may submit more information to become eligible for an additional payment. HHS will make up the difference if you have yet to receive this amount in previous distributions. If you were previously ineligible, such as those who began practicing in 2020, you are also invited to apply for the Phase 3 funding.

TO APPLY, YOU NEED TO:

1.       Determine eligibility

2.       Enter your Tax ID Number (TIN)

3.       Provide required financial information and submit

Note: You will need to submit a new application, even if you previously submitted revenue details for a prior PRF distribution; the application has been updated to include some additional data entries in order to calculate payment based on financial impact of COVID-19.
