New Listserv Technology for NYS Council Members
April 28, 2020
To: All NYS Council Members
In our continuing efforts to improve communication with and between our members, the NYS Council has created three new Listserv email groups to be used within our membership. The Listservs will allow members to ask questions of each other and to share information and best practices.
The three Listservs are related to the following topics:
- GENERAL INFO – related to any member questions/concerns/information
- COVID-19 – specific to the current pandemic
- BILLING GEEKS – for billing and coding questions
Any staff from a NYS Council member organization is invited to join these groups.
Once an individual is added to a list, they can email the group by using one of the following email addresses and the email will be distributed to the entire group. There is no moderator for each of the discussion groups – this is solely for information sharing among our membership.
- GENERAL-INFO@LISTSERV.NYSCOUNCIL.ORG
- COVID-19@LISTSERV.NYSCOUNCIL.ORG
- BILLING-GEEKS@LISTSERV.NYSCOUNCIL.ORG
When an email is sent, the sender will be the person originating the message and it will be addressed to the entire Listserv group. An example of what it looks like is below.

There will also be archives of the conversations from each group available on the NYS Council website so you will be able to go back and search topics. More on this as the groups get up and running and information is collected.
If you are interested in subscribing to one or more groups, please email Cindy Levernois at cindy@nyscouncil.org with your name, organization, email, and which groups you would like to join. You may unsubscribe at any time directly from the emails that are generated within each group.
We hope you find this new tool useful. If you have any questions about it, please contact Cindy at cindy@nyscouncil.org.
