On The Hill:
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Democratic leaders is scheduled to speak with reporters at 2:00 in advance of a House vote on the Senate-backed funding measure that could reopen the government after a record-long shutdown.
The Democrats have been whipping votes against the continuing resolution, which includes funding for some departments through the next fiscal year and the rest through at least Jan. 30. Many party members have already declared their opposition as the bill does not include an extension of Affordable Care Act subsidies as requested.
Despite the push, several moderate Democrats could back the bill, giving GOP leaders a little breathing room.
