OASAS PROVIDER TOWN HALL, Tuesday, 3/25 1:00 – HAPPENING NOW

Summary:
Right before today’s call OASAS called to let me know it had received word last night from SAMHSA re: two SAMHSA grant programs that are being cancelled or terminated by DOGE. 
Importantly, the House Continuing Budget Resolution does not include language that allows OASAS to continue to use 1 year no-cost extensions when a provider needs more time to spend grant funds as it has done for years, and to make matters worse, last night OASAS was informed that SAMHSA is being required to terminate 3 SAMHSA contracts/grants, effective yesterday.  OASAS is gathering information regarding impacted providers and getting in touch with them.  This may take some time.  The NYS Council is organizing a response to this very unfortunate news.
Again, terminations have been issued for the following SAMHSA grants/contracts, effective 3/24/25.

• SAPT Block Grant Supplementals 1 & 2
• ARPA grant (more internal to OASAS)
