NYS Council Advocacy Alert – Send Letters to Governor Hochul
November 25, 2024
The NYS Council is once again leading a statewide effort to compel Governor Hochul to include a proposal in her upcoming ’25-’26 budget that removes most outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services from the state’s Medicaid managed care program and to return responsibility for reimbursement of these claims to the state and the fee for service system. To this point we have met with representatives from the Administration on this matter several times, and today we are asking for your help as we step up our advocacy efforts.
We’ve constructed a letter you can easily send to the Governor here:https://nyscouncil.org/advocacy-action-center/
Feel free to review the resources we pasted on the page for your information. Note: One of the posted resources is the group sign-on letter we coordinated and sent to the Administration on October 18.
DETAILS: Please take a moment to read the letter and fill in the blanks as you scroll down the letter that is inside the box on the right hand side of the page. You do not need to enter your zip code or any other info in order to send this letter that will go directly to the Executive Chamber.
To get to the letter just go to the page (linked above and here: https://nyscouncil.org/advocacy-action-center/) and when you are ready click on the box below the ‘Resources’ box that is on the left that says: Executive Budget Proposal to Carve Out Behavioral Health Services from Medicaid managed care. Click on it, read it, fill in any info requested and hit ‘send’. Here’s that link again: https://nyscouncil.org/advocacy-action-center/
Quantity counts so we would appreciate you enlisting the support of your colleagues, peers, board members, etc. THANK YOU for your participation in this important effort!
