This workshop will focus on how Cazenovia Recovery promotes staff wellness via simple tests that focus on heart-health activities, nutrition, gratitude and other topics. Encouraging staff to complete health- and wellness-related tasks for points can be fun and incentives like wellness debit cards provide tangible rewards for purposeful progress.
Reiki
Trainers: Lourdes Guzman
Thursday, August 19 (10-11:30am)
Funded by: SAMHSA
Reiki is a Japanese form of “alternative medicine” for energy healing. Practitioners use a “hands-on healing” technique through which a “universal energy” is thought to be transferred through the practitioner’s palms to encourage emotional or physical healing. In this training, participants will learn the benefits of Reiki and how to activate and sense energy within themselves for healing during difficult times.
Long-Term COVID-19 Symptom Support Group
Trainers: Dr. Norman Blumenthal (OHEL)
Monday, August 23 (6-7:30pm)
Funded by: NYSHealth
An unfortunate subset of COVID-19 survivors have yet to make a full and complete recovery—some are still burdened with lingering symptoms or an exacerbation of pre-existing comorbid conditions. This compromised functioning has taken a toll both physically and emotionally. The aim of the group is to validate the frustration and discomfort these folks may be experiencing and help them cope effectively as they continue their recovery. The group will combine psychoeducational learning with facilitated group discussion and sharing.
Stronger Together: An Action Plan for a DEIB Culture
