AUGUST – SEPTEMBER 2022 NYS COUNCIL THURSDAY MORNING MEETINGS SCHEDULE

Each Thursday, the NYS Council hosts a Member Support and Public Policy call where the objective is to share information, address member concerns/issues, and to hear from key state leaders on a variety of topics of import to our organizations.  Since it is our policy to have our legislative agenda fleshed out by mid-September each year so we can have substantive meetings with the Executive Chamber early in the budget making process, starting next week we will use our Thursday calls to formulate our budget and policy priorities for the 2023 Legislative Session. There will not be a call tomorrow morning (August 4).  

We will begin our structured discussions re: our budget priorities on August 11 as follows: 

• Thursday, August 11: Topic: Regulatory Reform / Administrative Simplification  
• Thursday, August 18: Topic: Workforce  
• Thursday, August 25: Topic:  Rate Reform/Reimbursement  
• Thursday, September 8: Topic: Advancing Promising Models of Care
• Thursday, September 15: Topic: Service Delivery System Gaps /Access to Care Issues

NOTE: Ordinarily, our Thursday morning calls are 45 minutes in duration.  For the next 5 weeks, we will be meeting from 9:15-10:15, allowing us more time for discussion.  NOTE:  We will use the same Zoom link that we have been using every Thursday, to gather online via Zoom (pasted below).

It is critically important that all NYS Council members raise their voices as we work together to formulate our budget and legislative priorities for the coming year. We think the coming budget making process will be quite challenging. Despite this, we must elevate our voices and our priorities to ensure the needs of the New Yorkers we serve, and the agencies they rely on, are a top priority for this administration going forward.
