Dear Providers,

I mentioned on the 6/23/23 webinar with OASAS providers on the changes with respect to the COVID-19 guidance documents that we were waiting to hear back from the NYS DOH regarding COVID-19 POC Ag testing recommendations for asymptomatic, non-exposed persons. I confirmed with the DOH today that the FDA recommendations for testing do not distinguish between exposed or non-exposed persons. The recommendation remains 3 tests, separated by 48 hours (days 1, 3, 5) for asymptomatic persons and 2 tests, separated by 48 hours (days 1 and 3) for symptomatic persons.

See FDA recommendations here: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/covid-19-emergency-use-authorizations-medical-devices/in-vitro-diagnostics-euas-antigen-diagnostic-tests-sars-cov-2#SerialTesting

If/when the FDA changes their recommendations, we will inform the OASAS providers.

Thank you.
