Attached please find Interpretative Guidance for the Involuntary and Custodial Transportation of Individuals for Emergency Assessments and for Emergency and Involuntary Inpatient Psychiatric Admissions.

This guidance is intended to help clinicians, and other community providers, make thoughtful, clinically appropriate determinations relating to involuntary and emergency assessments, while respecting an individual’s due process and civil rights.  OMH will be offering educational webinars next week to explain the guidelines.
