Good afternoon,

For many months the NYS Council has been requesting a timely filing waiver or something similar that will result in our members being reimbursed for Medicaid managed care claims that got caught up in the CHANGE Healthcare fiasco.  As you know earlier this year we were able to secure a waiver for Fee for Service claims that extended the deadline through 9/30/24 however we have yet to convince the state to take action to ensure your Medicaid managed care claims are processed and paid in full.

OMH recently agreed to survey providers regarding the problems its providers continue to experience as they chase payers and deal with claims denials related to the cyber attack.  Please encourage your billing staff to complete the form and get it back to OMH at their earliest convenience.  Our hope is that OASAS will follow the trend and seek similar feedback from its providers.  I am working on it.

Since February 21, 2024, OMH has been aware of the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that impacted payment systems for healthcare providers nationwide. OMH has been monitoring the impacts of the Change Healthcare cyber incident on our providers, and we solicited feedback from our stakeholders through surveys distributed on March 1, 2024, and March 13, 2024. It has come to our attention that members of our provider community may still be experiencing adverse effects of the incident.

To ensure that we have collected the most comprehensive details of the impact on our provider community, OMH asks that all impacted OMH providerssubmit responses to the survey below by close of business Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The responses to this survey are being used for informational purposes only, and your responses will be kept confidential. Another email may be sent specifically requesting your consent for the State to communicate with insurers on your behalf.
