Last week we informed all NYS Council members that recently OMIG indicated it has amended its policy related to lower confidence levels for audit findings that we hope results in providers having more flexibility and leverage when responding to OMIG audits. I asked our OMIG audit consulting attorney Linda Clark from Barclay Damon to write it up so everyone can understand what’s happening. Attached please find the Memo Linda prepared for the NYS Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
As always, please consult your attorney as you consider how best to respond to an OMIG audit. The information in the Memo should not be construed as legal advice.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 518 461-8200 at your convenience. Linda Clark can be reached at 518 788-7136.
We hope this is useful as we continue to advocate for audit reforms that will infuse balance and transparency into the OMIG Medicaid audit process.
