The June Democratic primaries are approaching fast.   One of the races we will be watching closely is in New York’s 103rd district where longtime Assembly Insurance Chair Kevin Cahill is facing a primary challenge from Sarahana Shrestha, a justice and climate activist originally from Nepal.  Cahill has often been a friend to the NYS Council, carrying several controversial bills for our association.  At the present time, we are pushing the Assemblyman to hear our concerns and to support passage of executive budget and Senate language that would ensure both Medicaid AND private health plans are required to reimburse services provided via telehealth (including audio-only) on par with face-to-face care.
