As you know, the NYS Council recently met with representatives from the Governor’s Office, seeking a response from OMIG to our longstanding concern about the OMIG Compliance Plan that came out earlier this year, and specifically regarding self-disclosures and voided claims.
Recently, OMIG released updated Guidance on this topic. We shared the guidance with all members earlier this week (Monday, August 21 at 6:29 pm). We also sent you a communication we received from OMIG responding to our request for something in writing that makes it clear providers did the right thing by continuing to follow the ‘old’ rules for self-disclosure while OMIG discussed our request for clarity, and drafted an update to its guidance on this important topic (sent August 22 at 4:18 pm).
Thanks are due to the Governor’s Office and to the OMIG for responding to our concerns.
