On Friday night (9/8) NPR’s weekly radio show This American Life told the story of several unrelated individuals who interacted in different ways with the Never Use Alone hotline – a volunteer staffed hotline that is set up so that drug users can call if they are using heroin by themselves. Someone will stay on the line with them in case they overdose.
