This budget resolution broadly outlines trillions of dollars in spending cuts that would necessitate significant funding cuts to Medicaid and SNAP as the budget reconciliation process continues. Sample call script: I am a constituent from Representative _____’s district calling to urge them to protect Medicaid and SNAP. Cuts to these programs would cause millions of Americans nationwide to lose vital health care coverage and food assistance, and would be especially harmful to people who struggle with substance use and mental health conditions. I strongly urge the Member to protect these programs and oppose cuts or harmful policy changes that would threaten people’s ability to access lifesaving care and food assistance.
