During a recent National Council meeting, we discussed the results of the Nov. 5 election and Nat Con staff updated us re: various legislative and regulatory policies, the appropriations process (current and future), and potential appointments and priorities that could be advanced as result of the change from the 118th to 119th Congress.
The discussion included a look at some of the tools at the disposal of Congress and specifically lawmakers who may be interested in stopping or at least mitigating threatened draconian rollbacks and cuts to regulations, rules and funding. I will write more about this over the next few days. In the meantime and as a way for all of us to level set for upcoming discussions re: how to protect and advance the needs of the individuals and families we serve, and the providers who serve them, check out the 3 documents below. There is some repeat info from doc to doc at the beginning of the documents however once you get past the beginning, each one deals with a different aspect of this multifaceted discussion.
