I am writing to confirm that state agency leads from both OASAS and OMH will be joining our upcoming Thursday morning NYS Council Member Support and Public Policy call on November 2 from 9:15 – 10:15 (note extended timeframe). The topic is the proposed changes (see documents below) shared by OMH and OASAS earlier this week related to Integrated Behavioral Health Treatment.
Our state partners are looking for feedback from NYS Council members re: the proposed changes. Kindly review the two documents (attached) and join the call on 11/2 with your feedback, concerns and questions.
Below is the link we use for our Thursday morning meetings (please do not share outside of your agency – this is a members only call).
Again, on 11/2 we are extending the time frame for the call from 45 minutes to 60 minutes:

Subject: Important: Integrated MH and SUD Discussion
To:
Good afternoon,
The NYS Council has learned that OMH and OASAS leads have been meeting for the last several months to align their vision for next steps with integrated outpatient care for OMH and OASAS Article 31 and 32 clinic providers. Earlier today, Chris Smith, Associate Commissioner, Adult Community Care Group at OMH reached out to me and shared their new (jointly proposed) proposal. See attached for overview documents.
OASAS and OMH now want to make sure providers have the ability to weigh in, let them know if they are on target, what they may have missed, etc. As such, I invited the group of O agency leads that have been working together on this critical task to join us for our Thursday morning meeting next week, November 2 at 9:15. This will give us time to review and contemplate the proposals.
I am waiting for confirmation re: the November 2 date, but in the meantime, I wanted to share the materials I received a few moments ago with all members.
Please review the documents (attached), discuss with your key staff and care recipients, and begin to formulate your feedback as well as any questions or concerns you have. I will be back in touch as soon as I have confirmed the date and time but as I stated previously, I have suggested we meet with our state partners next Thursday at 9:15 during our regularly scheduled weekly meeting. If that date works for them, we will extend the timeframe for the meeting from 9:15 – 10:15 (we usually meet for 45 minutes, or from 9:15 – 10:00 but we will extend to a full hour for this meeting).
Thank you!
I look forward to your participation in this important discussion.
