OMIG OPRA

May 24, 2021

As I discussed on our Thursday morning call last week, advocates recently met with the new Medicaid Inspector General Frank Walsh and his key staff during a meeting where we had the opportunity to advocate on behalf of our members. State agency reps were also present for the meeting.  Since we are in a negotiation, I can’t disclose the details of the meeting but I would characterize it as productive.

Earlier today I received the following Memo from Robert Hussar, NYS Council consultant on matters pertaining to the OMIG OPRA and specifically regarding the ongoing OMIG ‘probe audit’ involving 32 clinic organizations.   Please note:  To be crystal clear, the information attached should not be construed as legal advice from either the NYS Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, or Rivkin Radler.

We urge you to consult with your healthcare compliance attorney before taking any actions.
