NYS Department of Financial Services (DFS) Complaint Submission Process Overview

Effective January 1, 2024, Commercial payers were required to cover OMH-Licensed School-Based Mental Health (SBMH) Clinic services and reimburse the providers either at the rate negotiated with the provider or, in the absence of a negotiated rate, an amount no less than the Medicaid rate (Insurance Circular Letter No. 9 (2023). To support providers experiencing payment/reimbursement issues, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) in partnership with the Office of Mental Health (OMH), is hosting a webinar to review the process for submitting complaints to DFS and answer questions.
