National Council + NYS Council

February 20, 2025

Tomorrow afternoon I will attend the National Council’s quarterly Public Policy Committee meeting on behalf of all NYS Council members.  I will take good notes – promise!  I have attached 3 docs from the National Council that summarize some of the issues on the agenda for tomorrow’s call.

Block Grants and Per Capita – Medicaid Fact Sheet – 1-2025 – Copy

FMAP and Provider Taxes Medicaid Fact Sheet – 1-2025 – Copy

Medicaid Work Requirements Fact Sheet – 1-2025 – Copy

Note about the NYS Council and the National Council:  Each year, the vast majority of NYS Council members ‘opt in’ to a great deal we offer our (NYS Council) members.  You can purchase a membership with the National Council by indicating on our NYS Council Dues Worksheet that you want to purchase a membership with them through us.  NYS Council members that ‘opt in’ pay a very (very) reduced rate to purchase a full membership with the National Council (ordinarily over $5k/year) when they pay their NYS Council dues.  This year, the cost to purchase a membership with the National Council through the NYS Council is just $800.

For those that have not yet paid their NYS Council dues for 2025 please see two documents (attached) you can use to renew your membership with the NYS Council.  On page two of the Worksheet, you will see a note re: National Council dues.

2025 Invoice

2025 NYS Council Dues Calculation Worksheet

I know this is confusing since the names of the two associations are very similar so let me summarize:  Payment of your 2025 NYS Council dues (as calculated using the 2025 Worksheet – attached) + opting in to join the National Council ($800 for 2025) = two full memberships for your organization (including but not limited to the ability to register for NatCon at member rates).

MANY THANKS to those NYS Council member agencies that have already paid their 2025 dues!  If you have questions about whether we received your 2025 dues payment, please write to Cindy Levernois at:  cindy@nyscouncil.org  and Cindy will update you.

Thanks again!
